Hi, I’m Sydney!
Hey, there! I’m so excited you’ve landed here in your pursuit of discovering new and exciting destinations for your next adventure! You can learn more about me and the backstory behind my blog below.
My name is Sydney Brown, owner and founder of Sydney Brown Travels. This blog originally started off as a passion project launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, and has since evolved into so much more. It’s now part-passion project, part-resource guide, and part-wanderlust inspo!
I’ve been traveling solo ever since I was a teenager. I did my first big solo Euro trip at the age of 19 and since then, I’ve explored a variety of destinations around the world including Alaska, Hawaii, Uganda, Namibia, several countries in the Caribbean–and more!
My motivation for starting this blog was to showcase some of the awesome adventures I’ve enjoyed throughout the last decade and share my pondering from the travelogues I kept while on the road. And while I still occasionally share travelogue stories, the main purpose of this blog now is to provide inspiration and practical advice, recommendations, and resources to travelers just like me!
There are a lot of misconceptions about what solo travel is and isn’t; what you can and can’t do as a solo traveler. I’m here to prove that solo travel is for anyone who sets their mind to it and has a thirst for experiencing the wonders of worldly exploration.
Whether you’re looking to take a budget trip to Seattle to embrace the PNW lifestyle or embark on a bucket-list trip to Alaska or Maui to follow the humpback whale migration, you can do it solo and have an incredible time! I’ve done it and my goal is to show you how to make your solo travel dreams a reality.
I deeply appreciate your support of this blog and of my dream to help others travel solo and on their own terms.
It’s never too late for an adventure of a lifetime, so what are you waiting for? Get out there!
